Today at the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area

I went out to the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area. It's been closed for a few months since it flooded. It was closed last week when I went there. It was open today. Their were thousands of ducks. I also took pictures of a lot of shore birds which I'll publish in the near future. I find the Northern Shoveler to be a pretty duck although the beak doesn't really go with the head in my opinion. Remember you can click on the pictures to enlarge them.

Loved the Mallards as your new backdrop..

The lighting was great so the drake has a lot of green in his head. I had a female mallard today that didn't fly. The unadulterated pictures look like I added a bunch of contrast. She filled the whole frame. I’ll have to post the pictures of her sometime soon.
